I am so bummed. Andrew and I wanted to go to Glastonbury this year, so I sent off my application for a registration number in order to buy tickets on Sunday morning.
It never arrived and I can't seem to get through to the organisers to seek advice. What a complete drag. And before you get excited Mother, yes, I know you didn't want us to go in the first place.Labels: Hum Drum
Today is one of those days that only happens when the planets align and the sun spins around while turning three shades of blue, violet and red... It's one of the rare days when Andrew gets the urge to clean.
Yes, no need to re-read the last line. I said that Andrew is cleaning. Every Sunday, I do enough to keep us going for the coming week. However, every now and again, Andrew gets an idea of a specific thing that, in his opinion, needs to be cleaned. Today, it's the windows. Don't get me wrong - they really need it. So I'm pleased that he's doing them. However, not patient enough to wait until we purchase some window cleaning supplies - he's taking them on with newspaper and vinegar. Now, I'm slightly to blame because I'm the one who told him that vinegar is a great window cleaner. However, we were out of white vinegar.
So he's using malt vinegar and while it seems to be doing the job... it stinks! My entire house now smells like a chip shop. I can't decide what's worse - dirty windows or a smelly house. Blergh. We've cracked some windows - so hopefully the pong will be gone soon.
Just so you don't think I'm slacking while he's slaving away - I've cleaned the living room, done three loads of laundry, gone through Mary Catherine's clothes, gotten a bag together for the charity shop and tidied loads of toys. Mary Catherine has also pitched in and sorted laundry, emptied the washing machine and hung up clean clothes on the radiator.
We're having a lovely day together pottering around the house with our various tasks.. it's a rainy day out - I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. Even if it does smell really, really bad!Labels: Hum Drum
Lazy sunday..
Today we did..... absolutely nothing. Which almost rivals what we did yesterday, which was next to nothing. It's been a lovely weekend, very relaxed. We skipped Mary Catherine's swimming lesson and slept in until about 10:30 yesterday morning. I think that was the last of our jet lag fun. We managed to get out of the house for an early, early dinner at the Wharf before coming home and putting MC to bed before having movie night. Matchstick Men - very good.
Today we did even less - Andrew made a pot of chili for another late lunch and we just hung out at home, did some laundry (aren't you envious yet?) and watched far too much children's television.
Mary Catherine and I played with Andrew's new computer some more - the picture at left is the result of our fun. I took the pic - she did the rest . It was cool to see her use the track pad on the Mac Book Pro - I didn't know she could do that.
Ahh - Monday looms large.

Andrew got a new Mac Book Pro this past week. Before you wonder where we keep the money tree, I should tell you that it's for work, but thankfully he gets to treat it as his own. It came with a fun program called Comic Life and I spent a few minutes last night playing around. Hence the lovely picture of me in my glasses at the right.
We all slept until 10:30 this morning - all of us - so we're just having a home day today. I have a feeling I'll be feeling a little stir crazy later on this evening, but it's no big whoop. So far, I've gotten all of Mary Catherine's stuff unpacked and put away - which is a good thing. Her room looks a bit full now, so I feel a toy cleanout and drop off to the Children's A&E later this month.
Now I just have to put away all of our clothes and pack away the Christmas tree. I think the tree will disappear this evening after MC goes to bed. You know, the Christmas Elves have to come and take it back to the north pole. The north pole being a cardboard box!
